Ask anyone in North London about building work and you will hear the same three complaints: the price moved, the dates slipped, and nobody picked up the phone. We started N8 Contractors because none of that is actually difficult to fix — it just requires caring enough to bother.

So we built the company small and kept it that way. Director Shkelzen Kebej and project manager Armand Nika personally run every job on our books. Not a supervisor, not a rotating site manager — the two names on this page. It means we cannot take on fifty projects at once, and we are entirely comfortable with that.

We work out of Middle Lane in Crouch End, and we took the company name from the postcode on purpose. Our work is on the streets we live on. When a client stops one of us outside the shops six months after handover, we want it to be to say hello — not to ask when we are coming back to fix something.

Every trade is handled in-house: groundworks, steels, roofing, electrics, plumbing, plastering, tiling and joinery. One team, one programme, one person accountable from the first site visit to the final walkthrough.
